Apparently this is the real reason that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have broken up

My heart is shattered.

Over the weekend, Swifties around the world were heartbroken when news broke that Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn had called it quits on their six year relationship. Entertainment Tonight first claimed a source had confirmed the split, with PEOPLE and CNN later also confirming the news. Initially, these sources claimed that the relationship had run its course and the two had an amicable split, but new sources have claimed a much more heartbreaking reason. A source revealed to MailOnline: “The bottom line for the difficulties in their relationship was that Taylor’s career took priority over Joe’s – which can be awkward for a couple when it’s not balanced.”

“This drove them apart and ultimately, they both realized they were not on the same page anymore.”

“It’s been hard for Joe trying to make it in Hollywood and not quite becoming leading man material while dating one of the most famous women in the world over the last six years.”

The source added that their relationship was easier to balance during the pandemic when the world had shut down but since returning to normal, differences became more apparent and they were unable to save the romance.

Taylor was spotted in Liverpool this weekend filming what fans assume is a music video, with some even claiming Joe was with her during this.

She was then spotted in New York leaving a restaurant with friend Jack Antonoff, with many fans believing she was wearing her "J" necklace for Joe. On the other side, a video recently went viral of the singer performing Champagne Problems at her Eras Tour where she was quite emotional as well as switching out the song Invisible String for The 1. Any Swiftie will know that Jow co-wrote Champagne Problems under the pseudonym William Bowery while Invisible String is strongly believed to be written about him. Rumours of the couple's split have yet to be addressed by either Taylor or Joe and likely won't be as the two are known to rarely comment on their relationship. Joe and Taylor were first spotted together in 2016 and were romantically linked in 2017, dodging engagement, marriage and even baby rumours throughout their six years.
