The worst has happened…
What’s the worse thing that can happen when you get a tattoo? You’re not too keen on the size or placement? You regret adding so much detail? Or it’s just not quite how you’d imagined.
Or, you get a quote in another language that doesn’t actually mean what you intended it to.
Oh deary. Yep, it’s the nightmare sitch and it’s happened to poor Ariana Grande.
for those who are confused, ariana grande got a tattoo on her hand in japanese intended to spell out “7 rings” and posted it on instagram (now deleted), but japanese people in the comments started saying how the REAL translation is bbq grill pic.twitter.com/rF0NvEa9Yv

The 25-year-old had intended to get 7 Rings, the title of her latest track, tattooed on the palm of her hand in Japanese however, she ended up getting an ink that actually says “shichirin” which is a small Japanese barbecue grill.
Not ideal.
The Thank U, Next hitmaker was quick to delete her initial tweet but when fans spotted the mistake she responded with a follow-up:
Ariana Grande clarifies that she left out some letters off her tattoo because the pain was intolerable and says she’s a huge fan of tiny bbq grills which is one of the things her tattoo translates to! pic.twitter.com/SC1z4SSefW

When the pain got intolerable, the artist had to cut the session short and thus was one letter short. She said that the placement of the tat means it will peal a lot and therefore won’t last but if she really wants she added:
“If I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time.”
Eh, so does this mean she’s just going to keep the ode to the Japanese BBQ?! Sure look, more power to her.
The kween can do no wrong.
