Ashley Graham responds to Vogue cover controversy

Megan Roantree

Fans felt Ashley was more covered up than the other models.

Vogue’s March issue is all about the modern American woman.

It features seven diverse models all looking equally amazing. Among those included are Ashley Graham, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

Ashley Graham is the only plus-size model to feature among the group but it was still a step in the right direction for body diversity.

However, Ashley’s fans quickly began to point out that her positioning was different to the other girls. The model has her hand down on her thigh while the other women have their arms across one another.

Other people pointed out that Ashley was the only one wearing black shorts while the others wore bright colourful prints.

Fans commented on Ashley’s Instagram too.

”I just can’t help but notice you’re the only model covering your leg. Why would they not have you pose like the rest?!”

”Why the only one to cover your thigh? You look gorgeous.”

”Too bad they made u cover up ur thigh. If they wanted one model to keep her arm down it shouldn’t have been u,” some of the comments said.

With all the comments surrounding the photo, Ashley was forced to clear things up.

“I chose to pose like that, no one told me to do anything,” she said in the comment section.

So perhaps we’re reading too much into it.

On the same cover, Gigi Hadid received a lot of attention for having a long wrist which appears to be photoshopped.

No comments have been made by Gigi or by Vogue about this.
