Beyonce and Jay-Z accept BRIT award in front of Meghan Markle portrait
This will ruffle some feathers.
It's been an eventful night at the BRIT Awards. Hugh Jackman kicked things off by singing 'The Greatest Show', which people absolutely loved.
Matt Healy then made a very important speech while accepting The 1975's award for British Group, reciting a line from Laura Snapes' recent article in the Guardian on sexual harassment in the music industry.
Jay-Z and Beyonce then stole the limelight, accepting their International Group award with a video message that featured them both stood in front of a portrait of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
Markle has been subject to a lot of scrutiny in the press for every single thing she does, because apparently in the UK that's a normal way for the media to behave. She is constantly compared to her sister in law, Kate Middleton, and hammered for the most trivial of things. I can't possibly think why.
Anyway, The Carters decided to show some solidarity with Markle by featuring a portrait of her highness in their acceptance video.
Well played @Beyonce & @S_C_ 😂
