Beyoncé is no stranger to the big screen and it looks like she could soon be lighting it up again as a Marvel superhero.
Marvel has revealed that they are pursuing megastar Beyoncé to take on a superhero role in an upcoming
Avengers movie.
Beyoncé is mum to three-year-old Blue Ivy.
The franchise, which is distributed by Disney, is incredibly lucrative at the box office with the latest instalment,
Age of Ultron, grossing a whopping $1bn worldwide.
Producers are apparently keen to get the
Single Ladies singer on board as they feel her loyal 'Beyhive' fanbase would boost revenue even more.
A Disney senior executive told the
Daily Star newspaper: "We would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel's existing catalogue of comic book characters."
The singer starred alongside Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls.
The 33-year-old has starred in a number of films throughout her career including the Oscar-winning
Dreamgirls and reportedly moved to LA recently with her husband Jay-Z and three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy in a bid to reignite her movie career.
It seems the Grammy award winner has had her sights set on playing a superhero for a while now and was even tipped to play Wonder Woman back in 2008.
Speaking to
Hero Complex at the time, the singer said: "After doing these roles that were so emotional I was thinking to myself, 'OK, I need to be a superhero.'"
The family have recently relocated to LA.
Speculation is rife as to which Avengers superhero the mum-of-one would play, with Boom-boom and Blink the most popular guesses.
We think she would be perfect for Tigra who is known for possessing superhuman strength, speed and agility.
