Birthday Love : Glee Star Lea Michele Posts Thank You Message to Her Ever Loyal Followers

Lea Michele turned 27 yesterday but kept celebrations low key with a small group of friends.

She took to Twitter to voice how grateful she was for the support shown to her by her 3.9 million followers following the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith who played Finn Hudson in Glee.

Her co-stars Kevin McHale (Artie) and Chord Overstreet (Sam) also made sure to wish Lea a happy birthday via Twitter. Other colleagues Harry Shum Jr, Becca Tobin and Matthew Hodgson also sent messages.

Understandably, Lea chose a small intimate gathering instead of a big celebration, an insider told Life & Style: ‘It’s her first without Cory. She’ll celebrate with her girlfriends and have a low key night.

It’s going to be hard for her. She really thought he’d be her husband, so it’s going to be very lonely without him.’

Cory passed away in a Vancouver hotel room in July due to a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol. He was reportedly planning a special evening to celebrate Lea’s birthday and there have been rumours the couple were planning to move in together.
