"It's 2019..."

Following Greg's announcement that he has split from fellow Island winner Amber Rose Gill on The Late Late Show, fans believed that the rugby star was already making moves on Maura Higgins after the show. As the pair joined Ryan Tubridy on the couch last Friday night (Sep 6) many speculated that the co-stars looked "very cosy" during the after-party with rumours then growing to suggest that the pair were even "sleeping together". However, Maura Higgins isn't one to let rumours flourish and felt the need to respond when the speculation began to mount. Speaking to The Sun, the 28-year-old grid girl said:

"It's 2019. Just because I'm photographed doesn't mean I'm flirting or sleeping with him. If I was photographed with a girl nothing would be said about it. "It's a bit ridiculous. I'm with Curtis, as everyone knows, and Greg is a friend."

Greg admitted that his split with Amber came after a couple of phonecalls when the pair realised that their busy schedules were keeping them apart. The 7s player wished her all the best stating that she's a "beautiful girl" and hoped that she got every success going forward. But his telling of the split was met with a different story from Amber who claimed that she was dumped by text. Speaking on Loose Women, Amber said:

“From my point of view I still wanted to make it work,” she said. “There was a call a few days prior just chatting- not specifically to do with that. But definitely on that day it was like a text.” “We were texting each other, but that’s why I had to cancel.”

Since then, Amber is too said to have "moved on" with speculation that she's getting cosy with this Hollyoaks star. You can read all here.
