Robbie Williams is reportedly set to join the panel as a replacement for Louis Walsh.
It is being reported that the 62-year-old stalwart judge is to be axed from the reality show in favour of Take That star Williams.
Robbie has previously appeared as a guest judge to former bandmate Gary Barlow at judges’ houses and is now said to be the “top choice” to take Louis’ seat on the panel.
“Simon is planning major changes for this year’s X Factor and one of them is getting rid of Louis,” said the Daily Star Sunday.
“It’s not 100 per cent finalised yet but Simon knows he needs to make the show current and credible and Louis no longer ticks those boxes.”
Meanwhile, following Zayn Malik’s departure from One Direction, Louis Tomlinson is said to be planning for life after the band by joining Simon Cowell in the world of artist management and has set up his own company.
