In news that inspires a little more schadenfreude in us than we care to admit, an insider has revealed that Brad Pitt has been texting his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
According to US Weekly, it all started when the newly separated Mr Pitt got his hands on Aniston’s phone number and got in touch to wish her a happy 48th birthday on February 11.
In case you have a shorter memory than we do, in a separation that shook us to our very core, the pair divorced in 2005, five years after they tied the knot, with Pitt battling ‘overlap’ rumours when he plunged head first into his relationship with Angelina Jolie.
The insider told the magazine that Brad (53) may now be looking for a shoulder to cry on as he battles his soon-to-be ex wife Angelina Jolie for custody of their six children Maddox (15) Pax (13) Zahara (12) Shiloh (10) and twins Knox and Vivienne (8).
“They started talking once he wished her a happy birthday.” the source revealed.
“Brad told her he’s having a hard time with his split and they exchanged a few texts reminiscing about the past.”
Apparently Jen’s new husband Justin Theroux is taking it all in his stride: “Justin is OK with them being friends,” revealed the insider. “Jen just wants to be nice.”
If she was our mate we’d be telling her to change her number.
