He is presenting Channel 4's Paralympic Games coverage

“Don’t hide who you are”

RJ Mitte became well known after he starred as Walter White Jr in the huge hit Breaking Bad, he has since gone on to act in Switched at Birth, Dixieland and Who’s Driving Doug and has also modelled on the catwalk.

His next big career move is presenting, for Channel 4’s coverage of the Paralympic Games 2016.

Like his character in Breaking Bad, RJ has cerebral palsy.

Last week, he spoke to Channel 4’s  Krishnan Guru Murthy about his upcoming job and the underrepresentation of disabled people in the media.

“People want realism, they want to see more of people that are different on television and film.”

The video which was live on Channel 4’s Facebook page, gave people an opportunity to ask questions in the comments.

One viewer asked “How else can people with a disability or condition remove the stigma of not being able bodied”

RJ’s answer was plain and simple, but very inspiring:

“Live your Life” He said.

“Don’t hide who you are, don’t hide your disability.. Show who you are and what you are to the world.”

“When you want to go do something, do it”

“A lot of people in life, and not just disabled people, but people in general, they don’t do what they want to do,”

“They hide themselves…and then they never do it.”

“If you want to do something, do it”

RJ is a great role model and we can’t wait to see him presenting the coverage of the Paralympics.
