Britney Spears claims the security guard “back-handed me in the face”

Britney Spears has issued a statement after she was allegedly hit in the face by a security guard. The incident occurred when she approached San Antonio Spurs player Victor Wembanyama in Vegas.

She explained that she spotted him in her Las Vegas hotel and then later in a restaurant and decided to introduce herself and congratulate him on his career.

However, as she approached the sportsman, his security guard turned around and “slapped her across the face”.

The NBA player claims he didn’t realise it was Britney Spears when she approached him in a large crowd.

He told reporters:

“That person grabbed me from behind. I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight and they told me ‘Don’t stop.’ But that person grabbed me from behind, grabbed on my shoulder.

“She grabbed me from behind so I just know that the security pushed her away,’ he added.

The Toxic singer issued a statement after filing a police report.

“I recognized an athlete in my hotel lobby as I was heading to dinner. I later went to a restaurant at a different hotel and saw him again.

She continued, “I decided to approach him and congratulate him on his success,” Britney wrote.

Britney claims she “tapped” him on his shoulders, but other reports say she grabbed him.

“It was really loud, so I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. I am aware of the player’s statement where he mentions ‘I grabbed him from behind’ but I simply tapped him on the shoulder,” she stressed.

“His security then back-handed me in the face without looking back in front of a crowd, nearly knocking me down and causing my glasses off my face.”

Britney said she was swarmed by fans that night, but her security “didn’t hit any of them”.

“Physical violence is happening too much in this world. Often behind closed doors. I stand with all the victims and my heart goes out to all of you!” she added.

“I cherish the tremendous amounts of love and support I am receiving at the moment. Thank you to the Las Vegas PD and the detectives for their support.”
