Dream big!
So, we can only assume that when royalty give Christmas gifts, they go all out.
No sign of scented candles and socks, no doubt.
Anyway, with that in mind, we’d like to talk about Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, and what she wants for Christmas.
Santa, we hope you’re reading this!
Camilla visited the National Army Museum during the week, where she opened up about her ultimate dream gift.
While looking at the exhibitions, the Duchess said:
“I’ve always wanted a Munnings, I’m not sure how I’ll get my wish. Nobody painted horses better.”
Now, naturally, we had to do a little Internet search to find out what a Munnings is…
Camilla was referring to Alfred Munnings, who was a famous wartime artist.
Munnings died in 1959, and the new exhibition was what Camilla was enjoying during her visit to the museum.
So, what would a Munnings cost Prince Charles, if he decided to grant his wife’s wish?
Well, we discovered one of his oil paintings for sale in New York, with an asking price of $285,000.
Steep, even for the future King.
Christie’s auctioneers also currently have a beautiful piece by Munnings for sale, which is expected to go for around £1.5 million.
Hmm… maybe it’ll be fluffy socks after all!
