There is some serious controversy going on right now over a Whitney Houston biopic that is being filmed by Lifetime, with the singer’s family saying they don’t think it will properly honour her.
Work is proceeding on the film regardless but the family’s opposition means that Houston’s vocals will not be permitted for use.
Instead, a singer called Deborah Cox has been brought in to re-record the tracks and audio was this week leaked from the set to TMZ, including her version of the iconic I Will Always Love You.
The movie will be directed by Angela Bassett and stars model and actress YaYa DaCosta (pictured above) in the leading role.
