“Even though he’s not physically here, he’s part of me.”

Celine Dion told Rene Angelil: “I got this,” right before he passed away.

The singer’s husband died in 2016 following a long battle with throat cancer.

Dion, who recently recorded her first English language album without the producer by her side, said that the process “took a while.”

She told Good Morning Britain that although recording without Rene was painful, she knows that the loss has made her stronger.

“Losing a half of you, because we were partners, we were one,” she said.

” This is actually my first English album without him by my side, so that was emotional. At the same time something that was telling me that, ‘You know, it’s ok.'”

“Even though he’s not physically here, he’s part of me. I see him every day through the eyes of my children.

“I told him just before he left, ‘It’s going to be alright, don’t worry about anything, I got this I always trusted you. We love each other so much. No one deserves to suffer, you’ve done good kid.'”

Celine and Rene began dating when the singer was just 19 and he was 45. They had met when Celine was 12-years-old after her brother sent the producer a demo of her singing.

The pair married in 1994 in an extravagant ceremony in Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica.

They have three sons together, René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson.
