Chantelle Announces That It’s Over Between Her and Alex Reid

Well, sadly, it’s official. After months of speculation about their relationship, Chantelle Houghton has announced on Twitter that she’s split from her fiancé Alex Reid.

Earlier this afternoon, the former Celebrity Big Brother star tweeted the following:

 

We have to say, given the recent drama that Chantelle has gone through with Alex Reid, we weren’t exactly surprised to hear that the couple have decided to go their separate ways.

Yesterday, Alex released a statement following his arrest on Wednesday, after he was caught trying to break into the home he shared with Chantelle and their 11-week old daughter.

Police are reported to have arrived at the scene in the early hours of Wednesday morning after they received reports that there was a disturbance at the couple’s home. Apparently, Alex was arrested on “suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry.”

Over the past few weeks, it was made clear that Chantelle and Alex’s relationship has been under pressure ever since the birth of their daughter, Dolly.

“Things have been really strained. There’s never a day without drama,” said Chantelle, speaking to OK! Magazine recently.

It’s a sad situation but we hope that both Chantelle and Alex can remain civil to each other for the sake of their daughter.
