He said that the “staff were fantastic”.

Despite his accident, Charlie said he will still take part in Darkness into Light with his friends in the Phoenix Park.

He wrote, “So will be able to do Darkness into Light with my friends Pieta in the PhoenixPark. Still hoping I will get to meet Brucie even with a bloody face.”

Last month, the journalist revealed one of his biggest dreams was to meet singer Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce Springsteen returns to Dublin to play the RDS this month.

Charlie told his followers, “I still have one thing on my bucket list I would love to meet Bruce Springsteen when he is here. I want ‘Land of Hope and Dreams to be played at my funeral. This is mad, but I go to sleep nearly every night playing this song, along with ‘The Parting Glass.”
