Cheryl throws dig at Simon Cowell while explaining son Bear’s name

Ouch.

We have to say we've missed the X Factor banter between Cheryl and Simon Cowell which is why we're very much looking forward to this year's judges' houses episodes. Particularly after hearing how Cheryl managed to throw some shade at Simon which he really should have been prepared for. Ahead of the much-awaited reunion, the duo sat down for an interview with Dan Wootton of The Sun for an interview which will air on chat show Lorraine next Friday, October 21. The music mogul just couldn't resist the urge to have a little dig at Cheryl and partner Liam Payne's decision to call their firstborn Bear, saying:

"Do you really want to go to school being called Bear?"

Cheryl wasn't taking this lying down though and clapped back with:

"Why would you want to go to school being called Arthur or Simon, one of those common names?!"

That's 1-0 to Cheryl then.

Dan is also of the opinion that Cheryl will make a return to X Factor as a full-time judge next year, and this could well be true with Nicole Scherzinger set to join her fellow Pussycat Dolls for a reunion tour. Although Cheryl has been out of the spotlight since giving birth to son Bear in March, she made her return last week when she appeared on the L'Oréal catwalk in Paris. Main image via X-Factor/ ITV
