Christina Perri 'completely heartbroken' after suffering miscarriage at 11 weeks

Singer Christina Perri has told how she is "completely heartbroken" after suffering a miscarriage at 11 weeks.

She revealed in a statement shared on social media that she and her husband, Paul Costabile, had been one week away from sharing the news with their loved ones.

“Today I had a miscarriage. Baby was 11 weeks old. We are shocked and completely heartbroken," she wrote.

“We were only 1 week away from sharing the news so I feel like it’s also important to share this news too. I want to continue to help change the story & stigma around miscarriage, secrecy and shame.”

The Jar of Hearts singer added that she was "so sad, but not ashamed."

"I am ever reminded how amazing and power women are at making life and at healing," she continued. "To all the mothers who have been here and who will be here, I see you and I love you."

"I am iso sad but not discouraged. When the time feels right, we will try again. But today, we mourn our little life lost," she ended her message.

Perri and Costabile tied the knot in December 2017, before welcoming their daughter Carmella in January 2018.
