It has officially been confirmed that Russell Crowe will return to Irish shores once again next month.

Last night, rumours of a visit surfaced after Crowe teased fans on Twitter with a possible screening of new film The Water Diviner for the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.

JDIFF Festival Director, Grainne Humphreys, confirmed that the Hollywood star would take part in a special Q&A on March 20th for a screening of his directional debut The Water Diviner at the Savoy Cinema, Dublin.

“I first encountered Russell Crowe in Romper Stomper in 1992, a blistering breakthrough performance of incredible power and startling intensity – two elements which he has brought to over two decades of indelible screen roles including LA Confidential, The Insider, Gladiator , A Beautiful Mind et al”, Humpreys said.

“The Water Diviner is an impressive, beautifully shot epic war drama. Russell Crowe has created a powerful portrait of loss and redemption with fine performances, not least his own as lead. It’s a pleasure to welcome Russell to Dublin for the festival screening of The Water Diviner and present the film to his many Irish fans”.

The Water Diviner tells the story of an Australian farmer who travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to search for his three missing sons.
