Actress Claire Sweeney has announced that she is five months pregnant by her ex-fiancé.
The former Brookside star became engaged to Daniel Riley on Christmas Eve 2013 but a spokesperson confirmed in April that the couple had separated.
According to the Daily Mail, Sweeney's agent Jonathan Shalit revealed the news of the 43-year-old's pregnancy today, saying that the star "could not be happier".
It is understood that the couple have maintained a "close friendship" since their separation and Claire had previously revealed her desire to become a mum.
"I definitely want to have children, that’s still part of my plan, so hopefully watch this space. I believe in fate but I think you do start thinking; yes I am at an age now where I do have to think about it and consider it," she said.
"But then a friend of mine has just got pregnant at 46. She had been trying for years for a baby and then got pregnant naturally at 46."
