Last month it was announced that Jake Wood would be leaving Albert Square after almost a decade of playing Max Branning.

Now, it seems the 42-year-old has his sights set on another iconic British show… The X Factor.

The Eastenders star took to Twitter on Wednesday to show off his funny side, tweeting pal Caroline Flack with a homemade video, saying “I’m really gonna enjoy presenting the #XFactor with you @carolineflack1 ❤️”.

Speaking about his departure from the BBC soap that made him a household name, Wood said: “I’ve been at EastEnders for nine years and I feel the time is right to give Max a break.

“But it won’t be for too long as I shall be back to see Max face another chapter of drama.”

Sorry Olly… but this just looks too good to pass up!
