Dakota Johnson reveals her thong was superglued to her while filming

Mmmm delightful.

Oh the glamour.

As Fifty Shades Freed hit the box office last Friday, it has been the talk of the town. From drooling over Jamie Dornan’s bod to wondering how Rita Ora ever landed an acting gig, the film has provided a whirlwind of chatter.

And although we may have found the sex scenes in the latest instalment v steamy, it turns out behind the scenes it was a far cry from reality.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Dakota Johnson explained exactly what it was like to film those scenes with on-screen beau Jamie Dornan.

She explained: “I had these sort of strapless thongs that had glue on them. It’s not glue, but it’s sticky. They’re, like, basically if it were a nipple pastie, but underwear. But it’s only sticky at the top, it’s not sticky the whole way. It would also come off because the adhesive would wear out, so then they would superglue it to my body so that it wouldn’t fall off.”

She continued…

“I would wear two of them. It’s not painful, I mean, it’s barely anything. But I guess you have some sense of being covered. It’s f**king bizarre.”

As for Jamie… well he wore a “little pouch” to cover his manhood during the film. The pouch started just below the pubic region (hence why we saw that area in the film), giving the sense that he was “totally naked”.

So although we were getting hot under the collar, on set Dakota was feeling the opposite. “[The sex scenes] are never easy. It’s not casual and it’s not fun. It never got easy,” she explained to Marie Claire. “One scene, in particular, was especially tough to film. The most difficult one by far — I think in all three movies — was a sex scene in the third film where my arms and legs were handcuffed to a gate. It’s like a fence thing that comes down. And I was blindfolded. It was kind of shocking because I didn’t realize that no matter how prepared or rehearsed I was, when your senses are taken away like that you can’t control the way your nervous system will react. So it was really tricky to navigate that scene. It was kind of difficult.”

Well they made it look pretty darn easy in all fairness.
