He died at the age of 35 on January 30.

And now detail from Mark Salling’s postmortem has been released.

The actor died by suicide and had a small amount of alcohol – 0.08 percent – in his system at the time. There was no evidence of any other drugs, a toxicology report states.

TMZ also reports that Salling had attempted to kill himself in the months prior to his eventual death.

His father was the last person to see the former Glee star alive;  his mother discovered he was missing a little after midnight and raised the alarm. Salling was wearing an ankle monitor when he left his home, but he removed it on a nearby street.

Salling pleaded guilty to the possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor in October 2017; he struck a plea deal in December and was due to be sentenced this month.

He would have spent between four and seven years in prison as part of that deal.

Mark was arrested in December 2015 after investigators alleged a USB flash drive, laptop, and hard drive seized from his residence contained thousands of images and videos depicting child pornography.

In January, his lawyer confirmed the news of his death in a statement to PEOPLE magazine:

“I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning.

“Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment.

“He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother.

“The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected.”

Salling first appeared on TV during a 1999 episode of Walker, Texas Ranger.

He went on to appear in a made-for-TV movie called Rocky Road before beginning his role on Glee, where he played Puck from 2009-2015.
