Doireann Garrihy has opened up about her first date with boyfriend Mark Mehigan and how it didn't go according to plan.
The couple was reflecting on the early days of their relationship in the latest episode of Doireann's podcast 'Doireann and Friends'.
Doireann said they just went on a walk for their first date, but they didn't kissed when the date came to an end.
She said, "You didn’t give me a kiss when you walked me back to the car and I was like, 'Grand, that’s fine…' So nothing happened, but it was a great first date apart from that."
Mark said, "It was a very powerful first date."
The comedian added, "When we met, it was lashing rain when you came over first, before we went on the walk, it was torrential and I had to go out and find you because, weirdly enough, you couldn’t find the apartment even with Google Maps."
Doireann confirmed they had their first kiss on their second date after she made the move.
The RTÉ star said she "went in for the kill" because Mark was too nervous.
"We went on our second date, and it was very obvious that we needed to have a kiss.
"But it was very obvious that you were too nervous to do it, so I just went in for the kill."
Doireann and Mark have been together since last December and recently revealed they were living together.
