Now we need to know… is Kate Middleton a rock music stan??
Dolly Parton has admitted that she had to turn down an invitation to have tea with Kate Middleton during her time in the UK promoting her new rock album.
The iconic star said she had a very good – and quite a funny – reason, but said she hopes she can someday sit down with the Duchess of Wales.
While speaking on BBC Radio 2 about her new rock album, Dolly said her schedule was so busy during her visit to the English capital that she could only make time for promotion.
“This time, Lordy, I even got invited to have tea with Kate but I couldn’t even go,” she said.
“I thought it was very sweet and nice of her to invite me and one of these days I’m going to get to do that – that would be great.”
Dolly then quickly revealed that: “She wasn’t going to promote my rock album so I had to say no.”
The 9-to-5 star then said: “I love the people, the feel of London,” before saying that she “unfortunately” doesn’t have a lot of time to take in the city while she’s there for work.
The Country music legend’s latest album is due for release in November of this year.
It will mark her first time dipping into the rock genre after spending years dominating the Country scene.
One song due to feature on the album is a cover of Let It Be, which will also feature Beatles members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
