“And especially for the ‘dog ate my homework’ excuses. I am in hospital for a week now with long COVID.

“In truth, I was a bit frightened by the symptoms, especially my heart (which was misbehaving badly) my lungs, and my brain! Top three worry bits for us all I think.

“I had Covid only six weeks ago so hopefully it will be a short spell of long Covid.”

Friends and followers were quick to share their well wishes in the comments.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery to good health Norah,” former newscaster Mary Kennedy said.

“The recovery from Covid can be so tough. Take care and I hope you get well soon Norah,” another person wrote.

“Oh goodness. Take care and I hope you are fighting fit again really soon,” a third added

“I’m so sorry to hear this Norah and I hope you have a full recovery very quickly. It will take more than long covid to knock you off your stride. Stay fabulous and get better very soon,” a fourth wrote.

Long Covid occurs a person experiences symptoms that last weeks or months after the virus has gone.

Common symptoms of long Covid include extreme tiredness, shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, heart palpitations and ‘brain fog’.
