Dua Lipa has made a new ‘rule’ to getting over exes…and it’s the trickiest one yet

Keeley Ryan

“Quite frankly…”

Dua Lipa has issued a new rule to stick to…and it’s probably the most difficult one to stick to yet.

The 22-year-old recently let it slip that there’s one more rule that didn’t end up making it into her pop anthem New Rules.

By this point, you’re (most likely) well aware of the first three rules.

  1. Don’t pick up the phone.
  2. Don’t let him in.
  3. And don’t be his friend, you’re only gonna end up getting caught up in the cycle again.

But it turns out that there’s a fourth “new rule” that we should be following to make sure that we’re able to get over those pesky exes.

And while it may be the most obvious, it’s probably the hardest to stick to.

She told Teen Vogue:

“Quite frankly, block them on social media.”

She went on to explain how New Rules isn’t necessarily about a romantic relationship – and that the rules could be for any kind of relationship that is toxic.

She continued:

“It can be someone weighing you down, if the situation is someone who’s really cramping your mood or making you feel bad.

“It just really depends on if that person is really toxic. One thing you’re really responsible for is the energy you surround yourself with.”
