Danny Dyer has revealed he auditioned for HBO series Game of Thrones and was turned down...three times.
The Eastenders star spoke of the rejection during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross show alongside Dame Diana Rigg, who plays Lady Olenna Tyrell in the TV show.
“I’ve been up for it three times, I got three knockbacks,” he said and Diana replied that she would “put in a word" if Danny lost the cockney accent.
Danny doesn't plan on changing his style anytime soon however as he said he would love to play a "cockney James Bond" so he could replace martinis with "half a lager, shaken not stirred".
He also said that he would like to try his hand at other TV shows including Sherlock and Doctor Who.
“I think I could do Sherlock, I think it’s a great role,” he said. “Doctor Who, something like that…I don’t think it’s about accent, I think it’s about charisma and I think it’s about personality".
The Jonathan Ross Show airs tomorrow night on ITV at 9:20pm
