Ellen Pompeo opens up about Grey’s Anatomy sex scene that made her cry

Ellen Pompeo is opening up about her time on Grey's Anatomy

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the actress said filming Meredith and George's sex scene was extremely difficult for her.

She explained that she was very good friends with actor T.R Knight so filming that scene together felt wrong.

She shared: "T.R. and I are such good friends. And we had to do a love scene and we were both crying.

"We cried. We cried," she admitted.

She said the scene was so uncomfortable to film for them and they were hesitant to film it.

"And the scene was so uncomfortable and awkward and he didn't wanna do that.

"I didn't wanna do it. And when we filmed it, it was so bad," she shared.

The actress said they were both uncomfortable and it showed in the scene.

"And then the network said there was too much thrusting. In your worst nightmare to have to do it one time, we had to re-shoot that s**t."

The actress said she has never wanted the full scene.

"We had to re-shoot it and do it twice. By the way, I've never watched that scene. I've never seen it, but I don't know how it was shot or covered or what the end, how it was edited, but I'm full-on in tears, the whole entire scene. And those are real tears."

Ellen Pompeo has been part of Grey's Anatomy since 2005. Pompeo stepped back from the show but continues working as a producer but is no longer a series regular.
