May he rest in peace.

Stephen Boss, who is known by his stage name tWitch, has passed away.

The dancer and DJ, who is perhaps best known for his work on The Ellen Show and on So You Think You Can Dance, was 40-years-old.

His wife Allison Holker-Boss confirmed his passing by giving a statement to PEOPLE.

She said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”

She added: “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

It’s understood that an investigation into Boss’ death is ongoing.

Boss appeared on So You Think You Can Dance as a contestant in 2008, before returning for an All-Stars season later on. This year, he joined the show as a judge.

2014 saw him join The Ellen Show as a DJ, and he remained a part of the show until 2020, after being promoted to co-executive producer.

As well as Allison, he is survived. by his children Weslie, Maddox and Zaia.
