Emilia Clarke is already saying her goodbyes to Game of Thrones and it is heartbreaking

Keeley Ryan

She shot to fame as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones.

And now it looks like Emilia Clarke has shared a final goodbye to the series, hinting that she had wrapped filming in Northern Ireland – and, possibly, her role entirely.

The actress shared a post on Sunday, where she thanked the show for giving her the “life I never dreamed I’d be able to live” and the “family I’ll never stop missing”.

She wrote:

“Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade.

“It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing #lastseasonitis”

A number of her former co-stars, including Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and John Bradley (Samewell Tarley), responded.

As did Jason Momoa, who played her on-screen husband Khal Drogo in season one.

Game of Thrones fans who are concerned about possible spoilers (aka: does this mean her character dies?!) can rest easy.

Since the HBO hit isn’t filmed in order, this doesn’t necessarily reveal anything about the Mother of Dragons’ fate.

Production for Game of Thrones’ eighth and final season is currently underway. It is expected to air sometime in 2019.
