Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick announces her engagement to producer Kate Brooks

Emmerdale's Michelle Hardwick has announced that she has gotten engaged to her girlfriend, producer Kate Brooks.

The actress - who plays Vanessa Woodfield on the long-running soap - shared their happy news on Instagram with a photo of the two of them having a celebratory drink. She revealed in the caption that she had been planning the proposal for "months" and that it had been "no ordinary proposal". She said:

"So after months of planning, I popped the question!!! She said yes!!!" "#loveislove #noordinaryproposal."

Michelle and Kate, who is a producer on the show, went public with their relationship in October. The actress took to Instagram on National Coming Out Day, October 11, to share two black-and-white photos of the two of them. "It will all work out in the end," she wrote alongside the photos, adding: "#behappy #loveislove" Fans rushed to congratulate the pair in the comments underneath Michelle's photo. One person said:

"Yaaaaaaasssss!!! So happy for you guys!"

Another added:

"OMG ~ this is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G news! Huge congratulations to you both."

Someone else wrote:
