Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick has married producer Kate Books

Emmerdale's Michelle Hardwick has revealed she has married producer Kate Brooks - and the wedding looks absolutely stunning.  The actress, who plays Vanessa Woodfield on the soap, shared their happy news with an adorable Instagram post on Thursday. "In over 100 degrees heat, on Tuesday 10th September, I became Mrs Brooks," she wrote, alongside a photo of the two of them in front of Elvis Presley's home Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Last month, the actress told The Mirror that she and Kate were planning to get married abroad - and were keen to eep things low-key. She said:

"There’s no magazine deal, we’ll just pick up a few witnesses wherever we are and it will just be me and her.

"We only have a few months to go and we haven’t even got our outfits sorted and that’s because it doesn’t matter. That’s the biggest lesson I learned.

"We’ll get married abroad, hit a few bars and probably have chicken and chips for our wedding breakfast. Then a big party for our family when we get back to England.

"That’s all I can tell you! It will be ace."

Michelle announced their engagement back in December 2018, where she revealed she had been planning the proposal "for months". She said:

"So after months of planning, I popped the question!!! She said yes!!!" "#loveislove #noordinaryproposal."

Michelle and Kate, who is a producer on the show, went public with their relationship in October 2018. The actress took to Instagram on National Coming Out Day, October 11, to share two black-and-white photos of the two of them.
