The former Eastenders cheeky chappy and King of the Jungle, Joe Swash, has been declared bankrupt for the second time in four years. Swash declared bankruptcy following his inability to pay his taxes.
The soap star filed for bankruptcy in 2009, less than a year after he won I’m A Celebrity...Apparently Swash owed the Revenue over £120,000 on the first occasion. Joe got the bill down to £20,000 but the tax man declared him insolvent when he didn’t pay the remainder.
According to Digital Spy, Joe now owes a tax bill to Revenue of about £50,000. The actor was declared insolvent again on March 5th and Revenue have taken measures to seize his assets.
A spokesman for Swash commented: "He assumed his trustee in bankruptcy was dealing with it. The money is there to be paid. It will be resolved this week."
Swash joins a long list of celebrities who have declared bankruptcy including fellow former Eastenders actress Martine McCutcheon and Martin Freeman’s partner Amanda Abbington.
