Getting Inked: Christopher Maloney Goes Under The Needle & Gets His First Tattoo

While most of us would freak out at the thought of even getting a needle, Christopher Maloney has gone one step further and gotten a massive tattoo on his arm in memory of his late grandfather.

Chris, who came third in last year’s X-Factor, decided to go big on his first tatt and got a ‘sleeve’ which covers his entire left arm. The tattoo features some lyrics from a Bette Midler song and a scroll banner of his audition date for the reality TV talent show.

By this stage we’re all fairly familiar with Christopher’s nan (a regular fixture on the X-Factor) but Chris decided to pay tribute to his grandad with the original design. Chris reportedly performed the Bette Midler song The Rose at his grandad’s funeral, hence why he chose to have them inked into his arm.

Altogether, Chris was tattooed for six hours. He was accompanied by Jaymi Hensely from Union J and Celebrity Big Brother winner Rylan Clark. So does this mean that all has been forgiven between Maloney and his fellow X-Factor contestants?

During the show, Christopher was accused of being a bit of a ‘diva’ backstage and there were non-stop rumours of backstage fights and walkouts during filming.

“The microphone and date is from my first audition, live in front fo the judges, because obviously that changed my life and I needed something to commemorate that,” said Chris, speaking to a local radio station.
