Gilmore Girls favourite Edward Herrmann has died today, following his battle with brain cancer.
The actor, known for his role as Richard Gilmore in the hit show, was 71 years old.
According to TMZ, Edward had been battling brain cancer for some time, spending the month of December in ICU.
The actor’s family decided to remove life support after their father’s condition deteriorated.
As well as starring alongside Macaulay Culkin in ‘Richie Rich’, Edward had also filmed with ‘The Good Wife’.
The actor, who was married twice, leaves behind his wife Star and his three children.
