The glaring difference between Meghan’s and Eugenie’s wedding photos

Wedding photos are not the greatest photos in the world.

They’re awkward, nobody’s ready, and the chronic expectation to appear as if everybody in your family absolutely adores each other when they really hate each other’s guts is high.

Really high.

And it’s probably even higher for members of the royal family due to the fact that they are very much severely in the public eye and have to pretend to be best mates at all times.

A tall order, in fairness.

And although you’re probably wondering how in the world this all relates to the differences between the royal family’s wedding photos, never fear because this is how.

In Meghan and Harry’s official wedding portraits, the entire family is stood very close together giving the impression that they generally enjoy each other’s company/were maybe just told to stand that way, who knows?

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s official portrait, however, tells a slightly different story – namely due to the fact that the family is incredibly spaced out, leaving a lot of somewhat awkward empty space in the photo (see below).

Body language expert Judi James told OK! magazine all about her thoughts on the photos – and why she thinks Eugenie’s photo says a lot more about her family’s relationship.

She said:

“Sadly Eugenie’s mother Sarah was put at the outer edge of the line-up, with Beatrice filling the huge gap between mother, father and daughter.

“The distance between Eugenie and her parents means her father is at the very far end of the line-up, which makes Eugenie’s closest family members look rather distant.”

James added that by contrast in Meghan and Harry’s photo, Meghan’s mother Doria is so close to her daughter that “the two women are touching.”

She also theorised that Sarah Ferguson was moved so far out of the centre of Eugenie’s photo because of her history with the family.

Makes sense, yeah.

At the end of the day though, two different photographers took the photos, so the notable differences could also come from that, let’s be honest.
