There is nothing that will put your mood down like greasy hair, nobody likes to have it and especially when you're somewhere to be and no time to wash and style, greasy hair can be the bain of our lives. And as the weather is set to remain warm for another week or so, it never helps with this issue. But where the internet exists, there is a hack for it and it could be life-changing. Greasy hair is normal, while it is annoying, there is nothing wrong with it and some of us get greasier hair quicker than others. Greasy hair occurs when scalps produce oil and sebum, and the finer hair you have, the quicker it develops. Exercising, skipping wash days, overwashing and the weather can all play a part in this, too. And don't be fooled, leaving your hair in its natural oils is good for it, the only issue is that it can look limp and over-slicked, but when it comes to healthy hair, it's the best medicine. Thick and coarse hair tends last a lot longer than fine and thin hair, but one way to ensure your roots will stay greasy is to wash your hair every day. By resisting the urge to wash it every day or two days will help reduce the grease (I know, but it's true.) Training our hair to get used to the oil, you can end up getting a few more days of not needing to wash your hair. The more you clean your hair, the more oil your scalp naturally thinks it needs and produces it more frequently to compensate. As well as not washing it as often, if you suffer from particularly greasy hair, invest in a purifying shampoo. Speak to your hairdresser about what the best one is for you. And trust them with this, shop-bought shampoo is not recommended by hairdressers for a reason. While washing your hair, only ever put conditioner on the ends and never the roots as this will make them appear greasier sooner.
