The two attended the second annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles and shared the sweet moment where they captured a snap, going immediately viral online. Taken by photographer Tyrell Hampton and shared on Instagram, the two are all smiles and even seen hugging in one picture. Hailey was stunning in a strapless brown gown from Saint Laurent's spring/summer 2023 collection while Selena donned an Armani black suit with Cartier jewels. The viral photo comes after Hailey addressed speculation that there was a feud between the pair on the Call Her Daddy podcast last month, clearing up fan assumptions that she had dated Justin Bieber at the same time as Selena. She also addressed the hate and trolling she gets regularly due to her marriage with Justin. "The perpetuation, comes from the misperception, 'Oh, you stole him,'" she said. "It comes from the fact that they wished he had ended up with someone else and that’s fine. You can wish that all you want but that’s just not the case." Also noting that she has spoken to Selena since being in a relationship with Justin and there is no hate between the two, Selena later responded to Hailey's comments on a TikTok Live, saying those who support her should not be hateful to someone else. "I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting. And it's not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I've seen," Selena said. "If you support Rare [Beauty], I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means and that is words matter. Truly matter. So it’s coming from me, and I just want all of you to know that I hope that you understand that this is much bigger than anything else." Selena first began dating Hailey's now husband Justin in 2010 but the two went their separate ways in 2012, before having a brief on and off romance in 2013 and 2014. Hailey and Justin first dated in 2016 but broke up shortly after. Justin and Selena then rekindled theirs in early 2018 for a few months before he then went back to Hailey that June and they got married the following Sepetember.
