“I agreed to do this film because I think it’s a shame that Brittany’s promising life and career has been eclipsed by the circumstances of her death.”

A documentary about another famous Brittany is in the works.

HBO has reportedly ordered a two-part series about the late Brittany Murphy, who died suddenly back in 2009. The circumstances around her death were and still are a little suspicious.

The documentary will look at the star’s life in the public eye, her huge success as an actress and her untimely death which still to this day people has people asking questions.

The star’s passing came as a shock to Hollywood, she was a promising young actress with the world at her feet. What made the whole situation even more suspicious was that her husband, Simon Monjack, died in similar circumstances. Brittany’s death became headline news at the time.

At the time Brittany’s cause of death was ruled an accident, caused by a combination of pneumonia, anemia, and an accidental mix of prescription and over-the-counter pills.

The film is directed by Cynthia Hill, she said in a statement: “I agreed to do this film because I think it’s a shame that Brittany’s promising life and career has been eclipsed by the circumstances of her death. I think it’s important to celebrate Brittany’s talent as we struggle to explain the tragic circumstances of her and Simon’s deaths.”

“Our Brittany Murphy documentary cuts through the tabloid noise with an elevated, nuanced depiction of a sensational story. Crafting a grounded account of Brittany Murphy’s life struggles and sudden passing comes with great responsibility and we’ve partnered with a masterful creative team to produce a thoughtful examination of a tragedy that has long been cause for speculation.”
