Here’s why Megan’s fellow Love Islanders told her not to have sex on the show

Love Islanders

Say what?!

Meghan Barton Hanson has said that some of her fellow Love Islanders advised her not to have sex during her time on the show.

Now, to be honest, we were very taken aback by this because surely it was none of their business whether she decided to do so or not.

Anyway, they got involved nonetheless and Megan explained what exactly went down in an article that has just been published.

In a piece for iNews entitled I’ve been slut-shamed since I was 16, but I’m proud of my sexuality, Megan explains how immediately after leaving the villa, she met with a press officer who told her about the negative press coverage that had been published.

Megan points out that women are shamed for having sex yet there’s a complete double standard as it very rarely occurs that men are criticised for the same thing.

She then wrote about how she was shocked by the fact that people had such an issue with the fact that she had sex with two men during her time in the villa.

As the 24-year-old says, women enjoy sex too and just why is there such a massive stigma surrounding this?

The Southend-on-Sea native continued on to explain that some of her fellow contestants advised her against having sex because they thought she would be “judged”.

“Some of the cast were trying to tell me not to have sex again because they knew how I would be perceived. That proves pretty tricky when you are falling in love and living with the person 24/7. I can’t get my head around the fact men are be applauded for this behaviour but because we are women it’s frowned upon.

“No one mentions the fact Wes had sex with Laura and then me, or were fearful of how Wes would be perceived for having sex with more than one person on the show”.

Hear hear, her words raise the question, just why is it one rule for men and another for women?
