Novak Djokovic has donated his entire winnings fund from a tennis tournament in Rome to aid flood relief in Serbia.

The Serb tennis star defeated Rafael Nadal to win the Rome Masters on Sunday, and scooped a cash prize of €549,000 which will now go towards the victims of the flooding in his home country.

Djokovic dedicated the championship to the people who have died in the flooding in the Balkans, telling the crowds:

“It’s also a special dedication to my country, which is suffering a lot right now. My heart is with them.”

According to Red Cross, the flooding is the worst to hit the country in 100 years with 300,000 people surviving without clean water and electricity.
