A lot of his family have reached out.

Hilaria Baldwin has opened up after her husband accidentally fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last week on the set of his new film.

Saying that her “heart is with Halyna”, this is the first time Alec Baldwin’s wife has publically spoken about the tragedy.

The cinematographer was fatally shot with a prop gun on the set of the Western film Rust on Thursday where she was airlifted to hospital in New Mexico but was pronounced dead by medical staff.

According to court documents, an assistant director gave Alec the gun and told him it was safe to use before the firearm went off.

Hilaria wrote on Instagram: “My heart is with Halyna. Her husband. Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec.

“It’s said, ‘There are no words’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support.”

Other members of the actor’s family have also sent their prayers and best wishes to Halyna’s family, including his brother and actor Stephen Baldwin and niece Hailey Bieber.

“Sending my love to the family of Halyna Hutchins,” Hailey wrote on Instagram on Friday. “This is a truly unimaginable and devastating tragedy. My thoughts are also with Joel Souza as he recovers.”

With her father Stephen saying: “Asking for prayers tonight friends not much can be said other than please pray for all involved in the tragic in the wake of this tragic accident thank you.”

Joel Souza, the film’s director, was also injured in the accident but has since released a statement regarding the incident.

Claiming that he heard “what sounded like a whip and then a loud pop”, Joel said that the handgun was identified as “cold” meaning there was supposedly no ammunition in it.

Alec was said to be in the middle of showing how he was going to pull the gun from the holster and where his arm would be after when the gun was discharged.
