Actress Emma Watson was crowned British Artist of the Year at the Britannia Awards, but her acceptance speech certainly raised a few eyebrows.
The 24-year-old Harry Potter star dedicated her award to a hamster that had died on set of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone movie.
“My hamster Millie had a heart attack and didn’t quite make it. The set decorators built a small mahogany coffin with a velvet lining and a silver plaque that had Millie’s name engraved on it.
“What I’m trying to say is that you’re all very special to me and that your vote of confidence means a lot,” she said. “I take it as such a great honour that you’re giving me this award tonight. Thank you very, very much and rest in peace Millie – this one’s for you.”
