Hollyoaks Actress Says Her Exit Storyline Is “Fantastic”

Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes McQueen on popular soap Hollyoaks, says her exit storyline is "fantastic". Dramatic scenes are set to air next week when a number of characters are involved in a train crash. It has already been revealed that not everyone involved survives the crash but Jennifer didn't give anything away about Mercedes' fate. Speaking to Inside Soap, the actress said: "It's a sad thought. I can't say too much but lives are on the line. It's very dramatic and very exciting." Thirty one-year-old Jennifer also said that she was delighted with how the show's scriptwriters planned her exit from the show. Jennifer Metcalfe is set to leave the show "I am very happy with Mercedes's departure - it's fantastic. I have always left my character in the writers' trustworthy hands and the stuff they have come up with has been great. "It was a difficult decision to leave the show as I love being here every day. But as you know already, there are a few new McQueens in town and they are just what the doctor ordered. It is like they have been with us since day one and we are really privileged to have them" Jennifer continued.
