Imelda went on to write a poem alongside the picture of her mum with a smile stretched across her face, showing her fun side wearing a feather boa in an Irish flag print.

Imelda said: “We couldn’t have wished for better. She deserved all. The effects of her fierce strength, infinite compassion, generosity, determination, quick wit, humour, vibrancy, sharp mind and deep spirit will outlive her and endure.

“Our matriarch, our supreme queen, has gone to the awaiting ancestors. The sorrow is deep our hearts are hurting but gratitude is abundant and love all consuming.”

Heading over to her Instagram stories, Imelda opened up about her father’s grief of losing his wife.

She said: “It’s my father’s birthday today, He’s distraught but wants to go for a fancy dinner as he can’t sit in the house crying while mam is being prepared for wake.”

With everything fully booked in Dublin, she pleaded with fans to make his birthday a little bit less hard considering the circumstances.

She continued: “I’m trying my best but I’m not my usual self. (One sister has Covid. Other sister’s dog just died. Can anyone help?”

She later came back online to thank fans and hairdresser and friend Dylan Bradshaw who managed to get her a booking in the Westbury.
