Kimberley Walsh has spoken out about Cheryl’s shock wedding to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, revealing that her best friend’s new husband is “a gent”.
The Girls Aloud star was one of 50 guests to attend the Crazy Stupid Love singer’s recent wedding party in London and spilled the beans on the swanky celebrations, describing it in her OK! Magazine column as “a simple gathering so everyone could get together and congratulate the newlyweds”.
“It was a fun evening, although it was crazy hot at Library as there was no air-con – thank God they had a roof terrace as everybody ended up there!”
“We did a little toast to the bride and groom when they cut the cake. It was such a special night. It was lovely to see them both so happy, Jean-Bernard’s a lovely guy.”
And while Jean-Bernard had previously been described as a “player”, pregnant Kimberly revealed that he spent most of the party making sure she was comfortable and enjoying herself.
“He was looking out for me all night. Every time he saw I was hot, he was like, ‘Can we get a water here!’. When he saw I’d been standing for a while, he’d put a chair beside me!” she said.
“He’s a gent and I think he realised that it was a bit of a mission for me to be going out clubbing at eight months pregnant so he was looking out for me.”
