Jake Carter and Karen Byrne have announced their engagement

The couple met when Jake competed on Dancing with the Stars Ireland in 2018. He won the competition with Karen Byrne, and the couple got romantically involved after the show.

They have been together ever since and have reached another major milestone in their relationship this month.

Jake asked Karen to marry him over the weekend and shared the touching moment on social media.

Karen was at the Dancing with the Stars Ireland rehearsals when her partner walked in with their dog Lenny.

In the moving clip, Karen looks stunned when the singer gets down on one knee.

The dancer was reduced to tears when the Liverpool singer asked her to marry him.

Jake said: "Hello missus, seven years ago, we met on this dancefloor and both our lives changed forever.

"It’s the perfect place to come back and ask, Karen, will you marry me?"

Jake posted the video of their proposal on Instagram and simply captioned it, "Here's to forever."

The couple's followers showered them with loving messages following the announcement.
