Jason Mraz gave up singing to become an avocado farmer, because why the hell not?

Live your best life.

One of the most important songs of my youth was “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.

No, not because I’m a hopeless romantic… because it was basically played on repeat.

But it does pose a question – where has Jason Mraz gone?

Well, it turns out he left the music industry to farm avocados. Rock on my friend, rock on.

The singer bought a 5-1/2-acre avocado ranch northeast of San Diego, and is living the dream.

In an interview with Eating Well, Jason revealed that he purchased the ranch in 2004, following all of his success.

He didn’t actually plan to be a farmer, but saw the ranch as “a place to be isolated when you have a crazy life.”

He explained how he embraced a vegetarian lifestyle while on tour in 2008, and never looked back.

“We decided to bring a chef out on tour with us for 30 days and go vegetarian and raw to see what would happen. And I mean, a dramatic transformation. Not just in weight loss, but in overall health and energy.”

A self proclaimed “garden geek” Jason turned his veggie lifestyle into a business.

He produces Hass Avocados (the best kind tbh) on his ranch, where he lives with his gorge family.

The Mraz family also sell homemade chocolate and coffee.

A hipster millennial dream like.
