Anyone but Joe…

Fan favourite contestant Joe Swash has been dumped from I’m A Celebrity… South Africa in a shocking elimination.

Joe was a fan favourite throughout the series as well as his first time on the show in 2008 when he was crowned King of The Jungle.

Speaking about his time in the African savannah, the actor said: “I found it amazing. It was such an amazing group of people that made me and Dean [Gaffney] feel immediately welcome.

“I don’t think I’ve laughed as much for years. Honestly, my ribs were so sore from laughing.

“It was quite an overwhelming experience as well because the jungle means so much to me.”

Joe went on to chat about his wife Stacey after meeting her on the show, and now he has a new experience to show to their children.

He said: “As in, I worked on it for over a decade, I met my wife on there, I’ve now had children. It was so nice to go back in there.

“It all sort of came back to me how much the show has done for me. It was lovely. It was really nice to go back and sort of say thank you. That was a big part of returning for me.

“Also, I was honoured to be one of the few that got to go back to be one of the legends. It was such a nice experience and something me and Stacey [Solomon] can show our kids and let them know, it all started from the jungle.”

While Joe appears to be okay with leaving the show earlier than many thought, fans of the ITV series were less than impressed.

One person wrote on Twitter: “So sad to see Joe Swash leave. He’s one of my favourite Kings of the Jungle and to me he is already a legend. He will be missed.”

Another said: “All the best ones have gone, this series is crap honestly man absolute joke, Joe swash lost on purpose cos he wanted to go home don’t care what anyone says.”

A third wrote: “Not sure i like this format, the actual brave ones are being cut out whilst the others are allowed to sit in camp closer to winning.”
